College Essay Workshop Interest Form
August 26-30 | 9:00am - 12:00pm
Rising juniors and seniors from all areas are invited to join Kristin L. Wolfe (writing professor at New York University) and Jacob Gamage (Soundview Preparatory School College Advisor, English Teacher and Bard College graduate) in a week-long college admission essay workshop on the Yorktown Heights campus of Soundview Preparatory School.
The five-day writing workshop will guide students through the writing process (brainstorming, drafting, revising and editing) resulting in a substantial draft of a college essay by the end of the program. Students will also read and discuss several sample essays that will help them see a variety of writing possibilities.
A student’s college essay is their opportunity to reveal their best qualities and to show an admission committee what makes them stand out from other applicants. Participating in a detailed workshop such as this one will help seniors enter 12th grade with a substantial draft of their college essay, putting them ahead of schedule with their college application process.
Students can enroll now for the Monday, August 26 – Friday, August 30 workshop. The workshop will be offered from 9am to 12noon (a total of 15 hours). This is open to the public, you do not have to be a Soundview Preparatory student to attend this workshop.
Cost: $500 for the week
