Soundview group poses in Tian’anmen Square

Students at Soundview are often reminded that they are citizens of the world. From discussions of world events at morning meetings, to collecting books for a small school in Nepal, to writing letters to children in France, to finally getting on a plane and seeing the world. The Language Club sponsors an exciting trip each year.

Travel with Soundview to Italy
March 2010 will have Soundview’s travelers boarding a plane bound for Italia. The trip will begin in Sicily, stopping in Palermo, Mt Etna and Syracuse and then continue to Naples and the Amalfi Coast and finish up in Rome.

Soundview in Argentina
The destination for Soundview’s spring 2008 trip abroad was Argentina. “Incredible,” “fascinating,” “astounding”: these are just a few of the superlatives used by students, faculty, parents and alumni families to describe their experiences. “It was really overwhelming,” said language department head Mrs. Circosta, who organized the trip. “The trip opened up a whole new view of the world for me,” said 9th grader Chris Shanley.

Middle School Trip to Rocking Horse Ranch
The Middle School traveled to Rocking Horse Ranch in Highland, NY for a 2-day trip packed with fun and lots of Middle School bonding.

Those who prefer to stay closer to home may venture to New York City to see a show or simply see the sights. The Language Club takes an annual trip to the Culinary Institute for a lesson in Italian Cooking and, more importantly, a delicious Italian lunch! Middle Schoolers have visited Boston, Amish Country and West Point.
