Literary Magazine |
|
| Soundview’s literary magazine, published every spring and called simply “magazine,” includes poetry, prose and artwork by students from the 6th through 12th grades. It is run by a small yet dedicated staff of students who work closely with faculty advisor, Mrs. Barr, throughout the year. The philosophy behind the publication is to provide a vehicle that encourages the expression and exchange of ideas in a variety of forms, which complement the Soundview community’s belief in openness and inclusion. Thus, it is not unusual to encounter an essay on Plato’s doctrine of the soul next to a “stream of consciousness” poem. |
