Texas Day is long-standing Soundview tradition originating from the well-known fact that Headmaster and founder, Glyn Hearn hails from Texas. A fine day in spring gives us all an opportunity to learn a little something and get outside for some fresh air and barbeque. Typically, some students will present a skit about Texas history and the musicians among us will entertain with some down-home Texas songs. All members of the community are invited and it is frequently a wonderful alumni reunion.

Students, parents, siblings, friends & alumni all join to help us celebrate our community and our new campus.
The food is always plentiful and delicious:
Texas BBQ brisket,
Spare ribs,
Fried chicken,
Southern pies and more;

We have games:
Ice cream run,
Pie-eating contest,
Scavenger hunt,
Pinata,
Hoola-hoop contest

There’s music and of course a little Drama!
