Credits beyond the total minimum requirement in any field may count toward the elective requirement. The School reserves the right to require particular elective credits for students when it determines a need to do so for the welfare of the student.
Community Service: Soundview subscribes to the belief that, being fortunate to dwell in the locale and in the country where we are, we ought to endeavor to work for the welfare of our community as a whole. Therefore, students are required to perform some community service each year. Students may choose a community service through the School or outside it.
Electives: The range of electives is as wide as students wish to make it. Electives may include: Art, Art History, Community Service, Keyboarding, Computer Studies, Debate, Drama, Foreign Languages, Independent Studies in Literature or other subjects, Literary Magazine, Psychology, Study Skills, and Yearbook.
