| Gifts of money, time and talent are key to making the “Soundview experience” possible, and all are important to us. Dollars raised through charitable donations enable the school to meet its costs. Time and talent allow us to mount events that bring our community together, while contributing to our fundraising efforts.
Events at Soundview, like the Gala and Auction, Book Fair and Texas Day, could not take place without the talents and efforts of Soundview families, alumni and friends. From the tables of books at the Book Fair to the array of refreshments at the Talent Show, we rely on generous Soundview volunteers to make our events successful.
Financial donations enhance virtually every aspect of Soundview. Most contributors donate checks, while other donors prefer the tax advantages in donating securities, especially those that have appreciated in value, as well as real estate and tangible personal property. Soundview is fortunate to be the beneficiary of matching gifts from a number of donors’ employers. “Planned giving” such as bequests, life insurance and retirement plans, life income gifts, charitable lead trusts and charitable remainder trusts is another option. Over the years, the school has also obtained grants from foundations.
All these donations, both financial and volunteer, have enabled Soundview to grow and prosper.
