The Environmental Science class will be taking a trip to C.W. Brown General Contracting Inc. (www.cwbrown.com) in Armonk, NY on Friday April 23, 2010. C.W. Brown has been a leader in “green” construction and is known for its expertise in environmentally responsible construction. We will visit the new headquarters in Armonk which is the first green construction in Westchester County. The headquarters include these green features: an energy efficient HVAC system, solar panels, solar tubes to harvest daylight, furniture made of environmentally certified materials. Most of the company’s construction debris is diverted from landfills. Students will be leaving Soundview at 11:45 am and those students who use bus transportation will return to School by 3 PM. Students will be driven (or drive themselves) to the Yorktown Diner for lunch and then on to the company headquarters.
